Examples

The above shows just one example of how the rpsoft custom calculator can be used for a currency exchange example.  This calculator is one of five calculators packaged and working together in a low priced software package.  If interested in the total calculator package click here for information.

Since there are many ways to use this programmable calculator for currency exchange, we do not have a preset program example in our software.  However, it is easy to use and make formulas for.  For currency exchange, as we will see on the next page, there are really only two types of formulas to think about.  One kind operates on whatever amount is on the same line that the formula is on.  In other cases for multiple readouts, there is a second formula that can address a previous line for information.

For this calculator - any needed information is entered on the left.  The right side is for outputs and answers.  The formulas as we will see also operate strictly right to left.

For the example in the above case, we assumed that for this person that the highest traffic would be for converting US Dollars into several other types of currency.  And we also showed an example of the reverse direction in two case - that of converting two currencies back into US dollars.

We will explain how this formula works on another page.  However, to use it in the way set up, for the first case, one would need to enter the number of US dollars to be converted in the top left hand input, just to the right of the title "US Dollars".  Then we can press "Calculate All" with our mouse, and many of the right hand side amounts will be calculated - including for "British Pound", Japanese Yen", Euro", "Mexican Peso", Chinese Yuan", Czech Koruna", and "Danish Krone"

The bottom two are a little bit more localized and just work on their own lines.  Enter a number into the text next to "British Pounds" like the "2" that is shown there, and hit the "enter" key while the cursor is still inside that text area, and the amount in US Dollars to the right on the same line will be output.

Likewise for the next lower line, enter a number for Mexican Pesos on the left and hit "enter" and again an amount in US Dollars will be output on the right.

Need More Calculations?

If you need more calculations than 9 lines, there is a "load" and a "save" operation available that can save files for you under other names, and that you can load again when you need them.  The primary option that you are using can be saved and will start up again when the computer starts up if you ask the computer to save the file at the end of your work.

Too much trouble?  Another thing to do is if you need multiples of this information on line all of the time, is that you can start multiple copies of the program - loading some with a different file with different exchange options and have them all on your computer screen at once.  The license for rpsoft software is a "per user" license, meaning that any single user can run multiple copies.

What happens when the exchange rate changes?

You can change the formulas at any time by clicking "Setup Values" with your mouse and then the setup / formula screen will be visible for modifications.  To see that screen and the formulas click here.

Keep in mind, of course, that you can choose to save these options at the end, such that the formulas and the input output names will be there every time.  If you want more than one custom program, "Load" and "Save" will allow you to save multiple option files under different names.

And also, do not forget that this calculator is one of five that come with this software.  Use the pull down menu on the main custom screen to select "Mortgage Calculator" and then you can have your own highly featured mortgage calculator with its amortization table and printout capability.
