HOLE CARD

BLACKJACK TERMS DICTIONARY

HOLE CARD

In a game of cards, the term "hole card" means a card that is face down and invisible to the other players.  In blackjack the hole card is usually considered to be the second card of the dealer.  The dealer receives two cards on the opening deal just as each player does.  In the case of the dealer, one card is dealt face up and is visible and the other card is dealt down and become the hole card.  In this manner the players at the table have a clue as to the health of the dealer's hand since they can plainly see one of the two cards.  However, since they cannot see the other card, they have no way of being certain just how good the dealer hand is.

eBook Available from Google Play, Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook

Does this book tell you how to win? No. It does tell you how you might get the odds in your favor, and gives some strategy tables for some of the more common blackjack games played in casinos. It also tries to explain using math and simulations why getting the odds in your favor may indeed improve your play, but why no one we know of can guarantee winning all of the time.
